We survived. Today I took Harper to the pediatrician for a well-baby appointment and a vaccination -- the first shot for which I've been present (her first was soon after she was born and it happened in the parent-free nursery). Harper cried for approximately three seconds. I was traumatized: had been dreading it for days, choked up when it happened, get a little teary when I think about it ... it's going to be a long few years as these shots come at her rapid-fire! Good thing she's tough and that she doesn't hold a grudge against mommy. In fact, this photo is of her grinning at me as soon as we got home. Go figure. Love this kid!
Harper was a hit yet again at the doctor's office, being happy and alert for the nurse and the doctor. Dr. Wirt even called her the Bionic Woman because of her super head control, alertness, and the fact that at six weeks when he put her on her tummy she tried to crawl off the table. I have a feeling Daniel and I are going to have to baby-proof our house sooner than we originally thought!
Vital stats at 6 weeks 1 day: 9 lbs 15 oz. 21 inches long.
